On July 1st, 2025, the NPS (New Psychoactive Substances) legislative amendment came into force, adding list IA to the Opium Act. The amendment is aimed at combating New Psychoactive Substances and to take more effective actions against designer drugs and their changing composition. This by prohibiting entire groups of psychoactive substances, regardless of their exact chemical composition instead of individual substances.

If the new List IA is relevant to your activities, you can submit an application for an opium permit or to expand the scope of your current permit.
