The use of German on labels in the German-speaking community was not made compulsory from 1 January 2025.
Minister Clarinval agreed to extend the current tolerance policy by one year, until the end of 2025. Until then, the FASFC (Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain) will not actively monitor nor sanction this.
