Luxembourg

All Marketing Authorization Holders (MAHs) should have received a communication from the Luxembourg authorities regarding discrepancies in Marketing Authorization (MA) numbers for MRP/DCP and national procedure products in XEVMPD.

This is part of an ongoing effort to align national medicinal product data with the EMA’s Product Management Service (PMS). The Luxembourg authorities are currently mapping products in their national databases to PMS and XEVMPD using key product identifiers such as the authorization number, procedure number, product name, and package description.

However, inconsistencies in MA numbers have been detected, and corrections are necessary.

Please check and update your Luxembourg MA numbers in XEVMPD,  if applicable PMS:

  • The Luxembourg MA number must be 10 digits (e.g., 2025010012 – YYYYMMXXXX).
  • The national number (NN) must be 7 digits (e.g., 0962811) and should be added in the comment section in XEVMPD, not as the MA number.
  • Ensure all product details (dose form, route of administration, packaging, etc.) align with official guidelines (WHO, EDQM, MedDRA) and not the LU MA.

MA and NN numbers can be found in MA document and tax documents. Please verify that all valid medicines are correctly registered in XEVMPD/PMS.
