Luxembourg

APL, the Association Pharmaceutique Luxembourgeoise, is a Luxembourg-based association founded in 2011.

The APL’s mission is to promote better healthcare by encouraging therapeutic innovation in the field of medicines for human use in Luxembourg. It does not represent other types of industries (generic, medical devices, parallel distribution) which are represented by BeLux associations established in Belgium.

The association representing the innovative pharmaceutical industry in Luxembourg will change names to IML, Innovative Medicines for Luxembourg.

The main activity of IML members is the representation and distribution of medicines in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. There is no production or transformation activity done in Luxembourg.

However, the pharma hub at Luxembourg airport is among the most modern in Europe and is used by pharmaceutical companies. Some companies with offices in Luxembourg have in the past used Luxembourg as an international distribution hub.
