On 03.02.2022, the Federal Parliament approved a law that adjusts the financing of the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP).
This has been published in the Belgian Official Journal and will come into force soon.
The law introduces new taxes and contributions as a result of EU Regulations :
– New Veterinary Regulation (NVR) – 2019/6
– Medical Devices Regulation (MDR) – 2017/745
– In Vitro Diagnostic medical devices Regulation (IVDR) – 2017/746
– Clinical Trial Regulation (CTR) – 2014/536
In addition, rates for funding current missions are also changing, e.g. the annual taxes for wholesale dealers and marketing authorisation holders.
