In order to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of official controls throughout the food chain, as well as to contribute to the simplification of procedures for operators and administration, a single board was created.
This new “Veterinary and Food Agency” will bring together all the activities of the three administrations and services involved in the control of foodstuffs:
- Service de l’alimentation animale de l’Administration des services techniques de l’agriculture
- Administration des services vétérinaires
- Division de la sécurité alimentaire de la Direction de la santé
The establishment of this agency will be placed under the authority of the Ministry of Agriculture.
